The iPad will make an excellent sidecar for document review, reference books, and web browsing while working on a primary system. For the cost of a second 24" Cinema display, you can get 2048×1536 of multi-touch LED display AND two 1 GHz casual computers that you can walk away with when you need a change of scenery.
